What email marketing & automation actually does for your business

It's not just about sending emails. It's about building a system that keeps working for your business long after you've moved on to the next thing.

The audience you already have is your biggest asset

Email is the channel that talks directly to the people who've already shown they care. No targeting guesswork, no algorithm in the way, just a direct line to your warmest audience.

The best thing you can do for your social? Back it up.

Email turns every follow, click and purchase from social into something you actually own. When the algorithm changes (and it will), your audience doesn't disappear with it.

Treat your best customers like your best customers

With segmentation, the person who buys every month doesn't get the same email as the one who's still on the fence. Each gets something built for where they actually are in the life cycle, and responds accordingly.

It quietly does its job while you're doing yours

A welcome series. A cart reminder. A check-in two weeks after purchase. These are the touchpoints that build relationships, and automation means they happen without you having to think about them.

Done well, it doesn't feel like marketing at all

A well-written email lands as timely, useful, and a little personal. Less "here's our offer," more "thought you might want to know about this." That's what gets opened. That's what builds loyalty.

How we work

Our Email Marketing & Automation process

01

Understanding Your Setup

Before we touch anything, we review what's already there. Your platform, your lists, your existing campaigns and flows, and what they're doing (or not doing) for the business. No assumptions about what you need.

02

Strategy & Structure

We map out what should be in place. The core flows worth building, your monthly campaign direction, how your list should be segmented, and how email fits alongside everything else you're doing.

03

Build & Launch

We design, write, and build everything. Templates that look like your brand, automations that fire when they should, and proper integration with your CRM so the right data ends up in the right place.

04

Optimisation & Growth

After launch, we watch what's happening and keep improving it. Testing subject lines, refining segments, doubling down on the campaigns pulling their weight, and scaling the flows doing the heavy lifting.

Platforms

The tools we use to power email marketing & automation

These are the platforms we work in most. We know them inside out, which is usually why we'd recommend them. If you're already running something else, no problem, we'll adapt to your setup.

Klaviyo
Brevo
Mailchimp
Omnisend
Adobe Creative Cloud
Miro

FAQs

Still have questions?
Let's clear them up.

Does email marketing still work, or has it been overtaken by social and paid?

Email still outperforms both. While social reach becomes more challenging as algorithms tighten, and paid keeps getting more expensive, email remains the one channel where you own the audience, the data, and talk directly to people who care. Done properly, it delivers the highest return per pound spent.

How quickly will email marketing start paying off?

Automations start showing impact in the first month, since they're triggered by real customer behaviour. Campaigns find their rhythm by month two or three. The bigger compounding wins, like revenue, retention, and lifetime value, build over six to twelve months.

What is email marketing automation, and which flows matter most?

Automations are sequences of emails triggered by what someone does (or doesn't do). For ecommerce, the essentials are welcome, abandoned cart, post-purchase, and win-back. For service businesses, welcome, nurture, and reactivation cover most of it. These flows build relationships in the background while you run the rest of the business.

How do you decide what emails to send and when?

We start with a strategic roadmap. It maps out flows by priority, campaigns by month, segmentation, and what we're testing first. The roadmap evolves as we learn what's working, but you'll always know what we're sending, when, and why.

How do you keep emails performing better over time?

A/B testing, continuously. Subject lines, send times, hooks, layouts, calls to action. Each test feeds the next, so we're always finding what works best, for different audience types and messaging. We've run 25+ tests for a single client in one launch phase alone.

How often should I be emailing my list?

Ecommerce brands tend to land best with one to two campaigns a week alongside automated flows. Service businesses usually do well with weekly or fortnightly sends. The real measure is engagement, not frequency. If subscribers are opening, clicking, and buying, the cadence is right.

How do you handle GDPR and email consent?

GDPR means you need explicit consent before adding someone to your list, and a clear way for them to unsubscribe at any time. It also covers how you store contact data. We build every list, form, and flow with GDPR in mind, so you're covered from day one.

Will I need to write or design any of the emails myself?

No. Copy, design, build, all of it is on us. We'll bring you in for tone of voice and key messaging / brand direction, especially at the start, but you shouldn't be writing emails on top of running your business.

Do you specialise in ecommerce email marketing?

A lot of our work is ecommerce, because that's where email earns the most measurable revenue. We build the full stack: welcome, abandoned cart, post-purchase, win-back, loyalty. We also work with service businesses, lead-gen, and B2B. Email matters wherever you've got customers worth keeping.

I'm just starting out, do I need a big list to make this worthwhile?

Not necessarily! We've built lists from zero with some clients and inherited established ones with others. The approach shifts to fit you. Early on, capture and onboarding lead. Once you've got volume, segmentation and retention do.

Do you work with my existing email platform?

Most likely. We work in Klaviyo, Mailchimp, Brevo, Omnisend, and others as standard. If you're already set up somewhere, we'll work in what you've got. If you're not, we'll recommend what fits your business.
